USM Art and Design Program Ranked in Top 50 in the Country by GDUSA Magazine

The Graphic Style and design Software at The College of Southern Mississippi (USM) has been
chosen as just one of the Top 50 Design Educational institutions in the country by Graphic Design Usa (GDUSA).
GDUSA is a print and online magazine that is thought of an authority in the graphic
design marketplace and has been in print for almost 60 yrs. Other educational facilities on this listing
include things like the Rhode Island Faculty of Structure, School of Visual Arts, Maryland Institute
Higher education of Artwork and additional.
The Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, Dr. Chris Winstead, applauded this recognition.
“GDUSA has been a leading publication for graphic style news and data for
a long time. To be involved in their 2022 listing of Major Structure Faculties is a testomony to
the countrywide relevance of our graphic design and style software and the excellent work of our
college and college students.”
Winstead added, “We definitely know that our application makes well-qualified and proficient
graduates, but getting this kind of recognition from the field alone is tremendously
appreciated.”
At the heart of the results of the plan are talented college students and a tradition that
fosters curiosity highlighted John Mark Lawler, Associate Professor and Graphic Structure
Area Coordinator.
“We are incredibly proud of our graphic style application here at Southern Skip. As college,
we attempt to foster a tradition that encourages exploration of both equally sort and function
all through all levels of the system,” claimed Lawler.
“Our pupils definitely embrace the rigor of the software with a feeling of delight and a
resolve to be the best. In the long run, the college students are who make this method productive,”
Lawler additional. “I am continuously surprised by the level of professionalism and talent
shown on a daily foundation from our students.”
Affiliate Professor of Style Jacob Cotton explained this honor as momentous for both of those
