Free admission for service members at Legacy Art Park

“Fallen Comrade” is sculptor David Greenwood’s stylized interpretation of a P-51 Mustang — a fighter plane that performed a dominant role in Environment War II air battles. This sculpture is, in component, a tribute to the valor and talent of the famed Tuskegee Airmen, the African American squadron of fighter pilots whose Globe War II record was heroic on two fronts — in air combat as well as in breaking the obstacles of racism in the U.S. military.

“Museums teach and inspire, bring about us to question and consider, dream and try to remember,” explained Dr. Maria Rosario Jackson, chair of the National Endowment for the Arts in a news release. “By collaborating in the Blue Star Museums plan, Michigan Legacy Artwork Park is featuring navy personnel and their families an option to come to feel connected to their neighborhood and to examine the world by means of the power of arts, society and layout, contributing to just about every person staying in a position to reside an artful everyday living.”
