Tina Fey and Amy Poehler: The Duo in Sisters

Comedy films sell big time. It doesn’t matter if the critics trash it and rate it will lesser stars, people love watching these light-hearted films. We all love laughing out loud in an otherwise stressful life. Watching films is a way of seeking entertainment and that is what filmmakers should focus on.

This year had experimental films like Me Earl and the Dying Girl, Ex Machina among others. With regards to comedy movies, Trainwreck and Spy were the most loved. Now the year is almost at the end and another comedy film is all set to release. This one is called Sisters. The movie is directed by Jason Moore, the man who gave us the lovely film, Pitch Perfect. Jason is also known for directing several episodes of Dawson’s Creek, One Tree Hill, Everwood, and Brothers & Sisters.

Sisters has Tina Fey and Amy Poehler playing the leads. The makers obviously couldn’t have gotten a better pair for a movie like this. The two are known to be extremely close and share a great rapport. They have often declared their love for each other and the chemistry between them is absolutely amazing. The comedians left everyone in splits at this year’s Golden Globes. It was their third year as hosts, but grapevine says that they mostly won’t return for the 2016 awards.

Apart from Tina and Amy, the film stars Ike Barinholtz, John Cena, Maya Rudolph, James Brolin and Dianne Wiest. While James plays the father of the two, John Cena is reported to essay the role of a villain. The filming began in June 2014 and majority of the film is shot in White Plains, New York. The makers wrapped up the film in January 2015. The original title for the film was The Nest, but it was changed to Sisters in December 2014. The makers released the trailer in July and it met with a positive romance, Tina and Amy’s chemistry winning most of the praises. Many commented that the film is a female version of Dumb and Dumber.

Besides this film, Amy has had a busy year. She gave the voiceover for the animation flick, Inside Out and also began filming for the 2017 film, The House. The actress was also the executive producer for the TV show, Difficult People.

Coming to Tina Fey, she is not only acting in Sisters but is also producing it. Apart from that she lent her voice for the film, Monkey Kingdom earlier this year. With regards to television she made appearances on Inside Amy Schumer, Behind The Wheel and Saturday Night Live.
