Jim Carrey’s Success
Ask around and you’ll discover that almost everybody loves Jim Carrey as the funniest comedy actor in movies today. Carrey is an easy multi-millionaire, and that isn’t a surprise given how widely he appeals to people.
People have a hard time deciding on what one film is the actor’s best. There are just so many classic examples to pick from. Carrey’s body of work is substantial and people can’t pick just one.
The actor’s two first films were undeniable successes. Those are the Mask and Ace Ventura: Pet Detective.
Those two flicks made Jim Carrey into a name that everybody knew. But his subsequent successes have kept him where he is – the top of the entertainment business. He rode those successes on to even more.
The next film in his career was called Dumb and Dumber, and that arguably solidified his greatness. He stars as Lloyd Christmas, a lovable dimwit who, along with his friend, played by Jeff Daniels, pursues his dream woman across the country.
After the string of successes came a string of less popular films. Me, Myself and Irene was one. The Cable Guy was another. Both did alright, but failed to attract the audiences of his earlier movies. Still, people out there loved these films too.
The success of his comedy enterprises led him to seek out somewhat more substantial roles. He did star turns in some more serious movies such as Man on the Moon and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, gathering him some critical acclaim.
There are just so many Jim Carrey films that you could go through; whittling it down to the best few is a daunting task. Naturally, every person has their own favorite Jim Carrey movie that they will swear up and down is the best of the bunch.
